The Book Of Mormon tickets

New York, you’re in for the best kind of surprise as The Book of Mormon, one of Broadway’s wittiest, cleverest, and most comedic shows is arriving and performing in New York on Sunday 24th November 2024 at the one and only Eugene O'Neill Theatre! Take part in a musical viewing that makes you laugh and love classical musicals, full of unrestrained and humorous twists.

Produced from a collaboration of the creators of the famous comedy TV show South Park and the play Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon features two Latter-day Saints (LDS) missionaries, Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, as they try to convert local villagers in Uganda. In the same fashion to their previous productions, the musical takes the serious subject of religion and satirizes it through both script and music.

As Ben Brantley of The NYC Times states, just like South Park, it is “also blasphemous, scurrilous and more foul-mouthed than David Mamet on a blue streak. But trust me when I tell you that its heart is as pure as that of a Rodgers and Hammerstein show”.

Make the most out of your chance to be one of the lucky ones and get a seat to this second to none show, before they're all gone!

Launching in 2011, The Book of Mormon has undoubtedly been one of the most thriving Broadway musicals since its inception. Conceptualized by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez, the musical was inspired by the Latter-day Saints (LDS) founder and prophet Joseph Smith and his Book of Mormon. The show was originally meant to debut off Broadway at the NYC Theatre workshop after its 2008 staged reading, though this turned out to be just a prelude as its actual premiere in 2011 moved to a more prominent location at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre.

After a year, the Book of Mormon was already greenlit for a U.S. national tour that lasted four years, including a run in Salt Lake City, Utah! The show also carried on to be performed in several locations, with a Chicago production staged in 2012, a West End production in 2013, and Australian and Swedish productions both performed in 2017.

The unconventionality and nonconformity of this musical were key elements to this success. It narrates the story of Elder Kevin Price and Elder Arnold Cunningham, two Mormon missionaries who aim to convert locals in a remote village in Uganda. It is there that they struggle with completing their mission, as well as their different methods in preaching their faith, given that Cunningham deceives the villagers by tacking on hilarious tales woven from science fiction and fantasy stories into his religious teachings, while Price is resolved to teach the villagers in the usual, orthodox manner. The way the Book of Mormon is shared with the audience is performed in quite an unorthodox manner as well, usually mocking religion in its script and also injecting humor in both of its acts, and of course, let's not forget the showtunes!

For its current run, the Book of Mormon will be in New York in November at the magnificent theatre venue of Eugene O'Neill Theatre, which holds an stunning stage, sound system and acoustics, and leading facilities that is fit for this box office hit.
