The Book of Mormon, one of the most successful shows in Broadway history, will now be available in New York! and showing at Eugene O'Neill Theatre on Friday 25th October 2024!
This tale is of the coming-of-age story of an odd duo of two Mormon missionaries, Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, the Book of Mormon showcases the theme of religion and religious storytelling, and presents it in a fresh comedic light. The two missionaries are given a mission to preach to the villagers of a local village in Uganda, who turn out to be dealing with issues of their own rather than what they aim to preach.
The Book of Mormon was just an idea back in 2003 by creators Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez, continuing on to its first performance in 2011. Since then, the musical comedy has become one of the highest grossing Broadway plays in history, with repeatedly sold-out shows for over a decade.
The Book of Mormon will only be on tour in New York’s Eugene O'Neill Theatre for a limited season this fall. Don’t wait for seats to run out on this popular Friday showing!

Lauded as one of the longest-running Broadway shows of all time, The Book of Mormon has been a fan favorite all over the world. In its several local city productions in the United States, London’s West End, and Australia among others, the musical has been met with an astounding reception from viewers and sold-out shows. In New York, it is expected to be no different as the performance on Friday 25th October 2024 will be held in Eugene O'Neill Theatre, with a reputation of staging the greatest plays and musicals, and praised by fans because of its spacious interior and beautiful stage.
The Book of Mormon is a musical about religious conversion, specifically Mormon missionaries named Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, as they are entrusted to represent and preach their religion’s faith and teachings to a small local village in Uganda. They come to find out however, the locals are not receptive of their preaching, as they are fighting against more dangerous issues. The pair then clash because of their methods to convert the locals, with Cunnigham’s often involving adding fictitious tales to his religious teachings.
After a decade of success, The Book of Mormon has won several awards in both Broadway and West End. Let's not forget the nine Tony Awards out of fourteen total nominations, including for Best Musical after its debut in 2011, four Drama Desk Awards, and three Outer Circle Critics awards. Across the pond, in the West End production of the musical which debuted in 2013 at the Prince of Wales theatre, it won four Laurence Olivier Awards again including for Best Musical. Then from the other side of the world, from the Australian tour in 2017, it also won two Helpmann Awards that also included for Best Musical.
Commercially, The Book of Mormon has also achieved smashing financial success with more than 4,600 performances as of the end of alst year. It has grossed over $1 billion dollars worldwide, and was even favored by the church through ad buys of ad space, billboards, bus advertising space, and other marketing campaigns in the several cities in which the show appeared in.
